University students want to work in their field of choice once they graduate. Some degrees require that a student complete an internship before they can receive their degree. If this is the case, they have gained some experience and if the manager liked them, they may already have a job in place.
Other university students who are not fortunate enough to obtain jobs after there internships, may have to go to there career counselor to see if the career counselor can help them to find a job. The career counselor may set up an interview for you, but it is up to you to get the job.
Before you go into an interview, make sure that your CV is correct. The career counselor may help you to complete your CV. In your CV, include any experience or second languages that you have learned. Employers look for applicants who can stand out from the other applicants. You can find a sample of how a CV is supposed to look on the Internet, if you cannot get in touch with your career counselor.
Create a free account at online job sites and upload your CV. Apply for jobs that you qualify for even the ones that do not pertain to your degree. Since you are looking for employment, you cannot be too picky when it comes to finding work. Sometimes, employers will email you when they believe you have the skills that they are looking for.
Visit job centres in your area to locate jobs in your field. You may have to complete some paperwork in order for the job centre to help you to locate work. If you cannot find work in your field, you can always work in another field. Some jobs do not require experience, such as in retail. Sometimes you have to work in another field until a job in your chosen field opens up. Some university students never locate jobs in their field. They end up going back to school to study another field that is in demand or just take any job that they can find since they may need some money right away.
